Costs, pricing & payments for dental treatment.
Are you confused about the cost of dental treatment? You are not alone! Information on dental care costs & claiming can be difficult to find and understand and the information provided from health insurance can be complicated.
Whilst the cost of providing professional dental care of a high standard in Australia is expensive, we strive to keep our fees affordable in an attempt to allow more people to access dental care on a regular basis. Our prices are therefore set to reflect our experience, qualifications, cost of service provision, and our desire to offer a community service to the underprivileged where possible.
If you hold current dental cover with a private health fund, the process is easy, simply bring your health fund card with you to your appointment & your consultation & x-ray costs will be billed directly to your fund with $0 gap payment for you. During the consultation process further information on treatment costs & an itemised treatment plan will be provided so you will know how much your gap payment will be.
Not with a fund? We offer a full examination assessing your entire mouth for $50 or a free quote for a single problem area. Terms & conditions apply.

Health fund rebates on dental care.
Dental care is included in most "Extras" health fund cover with private health insurance. Hospital-only & most overseas student policies does not include dental. Your insurance provider should provide you with a Standard Information Statement listing what services are covered, waiting period and benefit limits.
All dental services have an item code & fee- your health insurance may then pay all or part of the fee depending on your level of cover. The portion of the cost which is not paid by your health fund is called the "gap" - we currently offer no-gap payment on all preventive dental services (checkups, cleans, screening x-rays & fluoride) for all health funds & all levels of dental cover.
We offer easy on-the-spot claiming with the HICAPS health insurance claiming system. Simply bring your current health fund card with you to your appointment to claim directly from your fund & only pay the gap on the day of treatment.
If you lose your health fund card, or forget to bring it to your appointment, you will still receive the same rebate from your provider, but will be required to pay upfront & claim back your rebate from your health insurance company.

Dental treatment & Medicare
Currently, medicare does not cover dental treatment for adults & as such, it is impossible for dentists to offer traditional "bulk-billing" in the way that a GP clinic may. We are, however, very happy to offer bulk-billing for eligible children under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (for more information on medicare CDBS bulk-billing for children, please click here) and for eligible veterans affairs card holders (for more information on veterans bulk-billing click here).
Adults who hold a current pension, concession or health care card may be eligible for government funded dental treatment in Queensland, however this is not a service which independent dentists are able to facilitate or authorise. For information on dental treatment for adults please contact your region's Queensland Oral Health Service Facility.
